Visiting the MHS
By entering our building, you are acknowledging that an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. The health and safety of our staff and visitors is our priority. Thank you for your help in keeping everyone safe.
Our exhibition galleries are open Monday, and Wednesday through Friday, from 10:00 AM to 4:45 PM; Tuesday from 10:00 AM to 7:45 PM (the galleries and library will open at 12:00 PM on the third Tuesday of the month); and Saturday from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
Please visit our hours and admission page for hours and closings due to holidays and other events. All researchers are encouraged to schedule an appointment in advance. Learn more about using the library.
COVID-19 Protocols
The MHS does not requires proof of vaccination. Face masks are welcome and available for use. We expect all staff and visitors to respect other people’s decision about masking.
Monitor your health before entering the building. If you answer yes to any of the following questions, please postpone your visit.
- Are you currently experiencing any cold, flu, or COVID-19-like symptoms such as fever, chills, sneezing, coughing, difficulty breathing, loss of taste/smell, or gastrointestinal upset?
- Have you recently had contact with anyone who has or is suspected of having COVID-19?
- Have you been in a setting where the risk of COVID-19 transmission may be high?
- Have you been asked to quarantine or self-isolate by a medical or public health professional?
The MHS reserves the right to request any visitors exhibiting symptoms of illness to wear a mask for the duration of their visit or to visit at a later date.
Cleaning and Sanitation at 1154 Boylston Street
Our building is frequently cleaned and sanitized. Hand sanitizer is always available in public spaces. We continuously monitor our air filter and HVAC systems.
